Overview

BaoBei Kitchen is a personal recipe management app. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how the app handles your data.

Data Storage

All data you create in BaoBei Kitchen — including recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, photos, and cook logs — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share it.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect personal information
• We do not collect names, email addresses, or contact details
• We do not use cookies
• We do not have user accounts or logins
• We do not collect or store the contents of your recipes, meal plans, or grocery lists on any server
• We do not use advertising identifiers or serve ads

Permissions

The app may request the following device permissions:

• Camera — to take photos of your recipes. Photos are stored locally on your device only.
• Photo Library — to select existing photos for your recipes. Selected photos are copied into the app's local storage.
• Reminders — to export your grocery list to the Apple Reminders app. Data is shared only with Apple Reminders on your device.
• Notifications — to send you weekly meal planning reminders. Notifications are scheduled locally and do not involve any server.

Analytics & Crash Reporting

BaoBei Kitchen uses Google Firebase for crash reporting (Crashlytics) and basic usage analytics. This helps us identify and fix bugs, and understand which features are being used so we can improve the app.

Data collected by Firebase includes:

• Crash reports — stack traces, device model, OS version, and app state at the time of a crash. No personal data or recipe content is included.
• Usage events — anonymous, aggregated events such as "a recipe was created" or "the grocery list was cleared." We do not track which recipes, what ingredients, or any content you enter.
• Device information — device model, operating system version, and app version. Used to prioritize bug fixes for the most common devices.

This data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you. We do not link analytics data to any personal identity. Firebase data is processed by Google in accordance with Google's Firebase privacy policy.

No other third-party services, advertising SDKs, or tracking tools are used.

Data Sharing

Your data is only shared when you explicitly initiate sharing through iOS features such as the Share Sheet or Apple Reminders export. The app never shares data automatically or in the background.

Data Deletion

You can delete any recipe, meal plan, grocery item, or cook log at any time within the app. Deleting the app from your device removes all associated data permanently.

Children's Privacy

BaoBei Kitchen does not knowingly collect data from children. The app does not collect data from anyone.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes, the updated policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
